We got Jaisal a kitchen set since he loves cooking with me and his nani (grandma). We actually purchased this as a reward for potty training, but the whole reward chart held no power over getting him potty trained. Then fortuitously he basically potty trained himself right around his birthday so we got a 2 for 1 gift out of our previous purchase. Woo hoo!
Kirk was definitely thrilled that we only had one big present since he spent the better part of the early morning and then the evening assembling the kitchen.
In the afternoon we went to Building Blocks Toy Store to pick up Jaisal's grand prize winnings. When we saw the size of the bag, we decided we could hold off on using the gift certificate for a shopping spree.
The picture looking into the bag doesn't do it justice. Jaisal was opening presents and finding news toys for a solid half hour. It was great.
Oddly enough, the thing he wanted to open the most was the Hoberman Toy Sphere, the toy that he played with during his photo shoot.
We waited until just before bedtime to sing to him and give him some cake so that his Alpesh mama and Shaili mami could celebrate with him. Usually little man hates the Happy Birthday song, but on his birthday, he was all about it.
He loved blowing out his candle and although there is no picture of it, he devoured his cake. Jaisal and chocolate are currently best friends.
