Boulders and Beaches

On our last day in Yosemite, we figured we should do some climbing. After a failed attempt to set up a rope location (long story, good decision to quit), we decided to do some bouldering. Sydney and Alexander appear to be born climbers, so we hoped that Jaisal would follow their lead.

First step, borrowing Alexander's climbing shoes. Our little man with his giant hands and feet fit perfectly into Alexander's (who is a year and a half older) shoes.

Assessing the problem.

Conquering the climb (with a bit of trepidation). Warning - my voice is really loud in this video so you may want to turn the volume down.

He is victorious!

From Yosemite, we headed to Santa Monica to spend some time with Ann and Brendan and hopefully a new baby (except Kieran waited 4 days after we left to arrive - arrghh).

Little man loved playing in the sand and water.

We even got to see a pod of dolphins off the coast. The fins were cool enough for us, but eventually the dolphins started leaping out of the water too. We were thrilled. Little man maybe did not care as much as us.

Ann procured appropriate kid beach toys at the dollar store, including the best (and probably toxic) bubbles ever.
