We've never actually taken Jaisal to visit Santa (which I initially misspelled as Satan - what does that say about me?). His first few years were either inpatient or unable to handle that type of mass germ exposure. Last year we contemplated a visit at Christkindlmarkt, but Jaisal didn't seem interested and we didn't like the look of the line.
This year, however, Jaisal is far more interested in Santa. We covered up the fireplace in our house with a magnet and chalk board and when Jaisal realized we were blocking the chimney, he was flabbergasted. How is Santa going to come in? It was then that we knew it was time to take him to meet the fat man.
Since Kirk and I still despise lines, we decided breakfast at the Shedd with Santa was the way to go. We got there and Jaisal "wrote" a letter to Santa. With a lot of coaxing and spelling help from me he managed to ask for a wagon for his Hiro train.
Next it was off to meet the fat man. By this time, Jaisal had decided that he didn't want to meet or talk to Santa. According to Jaisal logic, Santa already knew what he wanted and knew where he lived. Clearly there was no reason to talk to him further.
This is the best we were able to manage in terms of a picture with Santa.
Here's Jaisal celebrating going near Santa. It really is the little things in life. :)
We wrapped up the morning with a special 4D presentation of the Polar Express (Jaisal did not love the spray and getting "ice" flung at our ankles), some play time around the aquarium, watching the holiday oceanarium show, and
a high five with Santa.
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
