Memorial Day Weekend

We had lots of visitors over Memorial Day weekend. We wanted Jaisal to spend a lot of quality time with Katherine and the Martins, but our air conditioner broke. We wanted to spare the little guy the agony of 90+ degree heat in our sauna of a condo and my parents were gracious enough to pick him up and take him to their appropriately cooled home.

Before he left Jaisal did get to spend a morning at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Here he's either wondering why we choose to follow him around with a camera or whether he can give me the slip and jump into the fish pond.

I think Alexander wanted to get in the pond as well.

Jaisal loved seeing all the butterflies, but as soon as one got really close to him he freaked. I may or may not have had the same reaction.

We spent the next morning at the beach. Although we were sad to not have Jaisal with us, not having to run around after an active 21-month old allowed Kirk and I to play some volleyball after a couple years off. It was so much fun, but I don't quite recall it being so exhausting to play multiple games of 2 on 2 volleyball.

Thanks to everyone for visiting! You're welcome back any time!
