Summer summer summer time

It's fun, fun and more fun these days. We're outside as much as possible. Playing with friends near and far. Generally just living it up.

Picking strawberries (and like last year, eating a lot in the field). It was particularly fun this year because one of Jaisal's frequent bed time stories is The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear. Every time Jaisal found a strawberry worth picking he'd yell for us and say he found a red, ripe strawberry. It was adorable.

Jaisal also took his first canoe ride this summer. It was just a quick loop around a small island in a lagoon, but Jaisal was happy to play with his oar, dip his hands in the water and check out the blue herons, ducks, dragon flies, and turtles. It's definitely something we'll be doing again.

Jaisal is also beginning to learn to appreciate summer as grilling season.

In addition to baseball, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming, little man has been going bowling with my dad. He finds the ball return very entertaining and we have to be very careful to make sure he doesn't try to pick up a heavy ball to take to the lane

Water is amusing in all ways - well except if it's being sprayed on him in a splash park. Look at this skinny scrawny arms. Who would believe that this kid packs away food the way he does and is still so thin?

Pooped after so much fun. We seem to miss making it home in time for a nap all the time these days. Thankfully Jaisal just gets so tired that he's gone back to falling asleep where ever he's at.
