Despite the brutal cold, we did manage to get Jaisal outside a bit this winter. He found some new friends in my parent's neighbor's kids, who are probably 10-14 years old, and would be nice enough to let Jaisal sled with them down my parent's hill.
We thought he might enjoy sledding with someone his own size, so his buddy Evan came over.
They both had a blast sledding down the hill. There was a solid layer of ice under the snow, so we had to help the kids up the hill and bring up their sleds. In our infinite laziness, we thought it might be nice if they could just sled down together so at least there would be one less sled to carry up to the top. As you can see below, our plan didn't quite work out.
Once there he more or less tried to walk on his skates. He had a few laps around the rink and then I think Kirk's back was ready for a break.We thought he might enjoy sledding with someone his own size, so his buddy Evan came over.
Poor little guy ended up with a face full of snow, but he was ready for more sledding right away.
Next step was ice skating. I've only been on ice skates once before in my life so I safely stayed out of the rink while Kirk and Jaisal tried skating. Jaisal did not even want to wait for a picture. He wanted out on the ice.
Maybe next time I'll get out on the ice with him so he can see how much better he already is than his mummy.
