Sir Oliver

If you can imagine, our interaction with doctors has actually increased lately. Riya has frequent pediatrician visits and has some lumps and bumps that require us to visit a few specialists. Jaisal has had a persistent cough, some skin issues, and ongoing issues with his ears and tonsils, so we've seen doctors for that (or have planned visits).

As part of all of this care, we continue to monitor Sir Oliver. We weaned off Cellcept a few months ago and took Jaisal for some much overdue labs a few weeks ago to see how Sir Oliver was handling the change.

Drumroll please....

Sir Oliver is PERFECT! We are officially off Cellcept. In fact some of Jaisal's labs, particularly his mag level, is the best it's been in ages. Jaisal's EBV level also went down to negative from low positive. Overall, just a fabulous set of labs. We get to actually wait a full 3 months before getting labs again. We're so thrilled.

As if that good news wasn't enough, at Jaisal's last doctor's appointment we learned that he now weighs 39 pounds. Jaisal's been getting taller and taller but did not seem to be able to get heavier than 37 pounds for nearly the last half year. I'm so thrilled that he gained a few pounds (because it also means that there is a reason that he is getting harder to carry :)). I'm sure his new love of sweets and ice cream did not hurt his weight gain.
