Impacts of Liver Transplant

Liver transplant has made all the difference in our lives. We are by no means unique. Here's a blog post from our liver friend Shelby who just celebrated her one year transplantiversary.  It's so exciting to hear how well she's doing. 

A little further along the path is our friend "Pip".  His mom has been SO helpful to me through the whole BA diagnosis and then transplant. Pip is a spirited little guy and I hope Jaisal has as much personality as him (or his sister) when he's nearly 5 years post-transplant.  

Pip is also in a new study at Lurie's related to immune suppression withdrawal. I know we're just focusing on Jaisal being able to successfully wean off his steroids (labs on Thursday to see how he's doing with the latest reduction in dose), but Pip could be part of new ground-breaking research that could help Jaisal potentially be off all meds in the future. Yay Pip!
