Entertaining a Little Man

Keeping Jaisal entertained in our hospital room is a two man full-time job. Here are a few shots of our active boy! (These are from about a week ago. I'll work on uploading some more recent ones, but considering my track record with pictures, it may be a while.)

One of our favorite nurses got the idea of taking Jaisal for a wagon ride around the floor. It took well past her shift to get the ride put together since it required a portable vitals meter and an oxygen tank to coordinate. The results, however, were fabulous. Jaisal had a great time riding around the floor.

We made a stop at the toy closet to pick up some bubbles and finger puppets.

Jaisal's beginning to understand the purpose of some of the medical equipment in his room. He now likes to "listen" to his own heartbeat or that of his stuffed animals.

His nani (grandmother) takes this as a sure sign that he's going to be a doctor in the future, remedying the obvious failings of her own two children who failed to go into the medical profession.

Here's a close up of the mask that we hope to go home with for the bipap machine. It's part of the cause of our problems with finding a machine that works for Jaisal, which I'll explain in a separate post.

Since Jaisal had his biopsy done on a hospital holiday, the anesthesiologists were nice enough to let me accompany Jaisal into the procedure room. I got to wear this adorable trend-setting outfit. After looking at this picture, I understand why Kirk let me go back with Jaisal instead of accompanying little man himself.
