The bipap machine from Walgreens home health did not work for Jaisal, nor did an alternate machine a respiratory tech pulled out. It seems Jaisal's breathing issues are best dealt with by the type of bipap machine the hospital has. Really. We're having a chat with the PICU doctors, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists later this afternoon to devise a new plan to get us out of here.
Until then, I am working on getting us permission to take Jaisal to the family center on the 5th floor. He will get to see the therapy dogs tomorrow, even if I have to steal him away. (I've been told this is called a code pink and will result in a hospital-wide security shutdown. If you see me on the news tomorrow, you'll know why.)
Inching painfully slowly towards getting home.
