Comfortable

The new sedation mix is working on Jaisal and he is comfortable. We've been able to reduce his breathing support slightly, which is a good sign. His hemoglobin still isn't where we want it to be so he's getting some blood to help boost the numbers. The surgeons aren't concerned about bleeds based on all other signs. Whew.

Jaisal is pretty fluid overloaded, so we're working to get some of that off. That should make breathing easier for him as well.

Kirk and I managed to get some sleep after a crazy 15 hours. I an now going to take advantage of some of the family services the hospital offers and go take a knitting class. Uniquely shaped pot holders for Christmas for everyone!

Scott is doing well. Obviously still in pain, but all his labs and such look good.

Been watching all day for this report. Glad you guys got some rest.

Shelby had fluid issues after her shunt surgery. First they said she was dehydrated and pumped her full of fluids, then the fluid wouldn't come off so they had to give her lasix. One step forward, two steps back, three forward, one back...that's the pace of the PICU. Hang in there!
