Jaisal looks amazing! His belly is flat. His scar is smaller than we expected. He already looks quite a bit less jaundiced. The best surprise of all - he was extubated by the time we got to see him in the PICU!!
We were told not to expect him to be able to breathe on his own, that babies never come out exubated, but here he is our little champion, letting us see his whole face! Kirk and I were overjoyed and were running down the halls of the hospital to tell my parents and brother.
The downside is that Jaisal isn't fully sedated, so we're working on getting his pain under control. Overall he looks wonderful. Pictures to follow later tonight or tomorrow.
